For days when you want to wear darker and heavier eye make-up, or if you just prefer a more natural look day-to-day, nude lips are the perfect solution. I love the products pictured above as they are universally flattering and work so well together.
To create the perfect nude lip…
When applying any lipstick or gloss its good to prep your lips by buffing and scrubbing them to remove any dry skin. A really good way to do this is to either use a lip scrub, or apply a small amount of Vaseline and then get a toothbrush and move it in circular motions to remove any dry skin and create the perfect base.
Next, apply a lip balm or something that will keep you lips plump and nourished.
Using a lip pencil as a base can prolong lipstick wear time and lasts even if your lipstick fades. I like to use a lip pencil to neaten and even out my lip line, and define the cupids bow. I use Rimmel’s Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lip Liner which is amazing. It’s a creamy pink colour that lasts for hours and is completely smudge proof.
Lastly, for a natural and subtle lip colour I use MAC Honeylove, which is a creamy brown shade which gives you the perfect ‘barely there’ look.
MAC Yash is another colour that gives the perfect nude lip. This one is a matte lipstick and is more of a pink/light brown shade.
And for those who prefer a darker nude lip, then MAC Taupe is a nice matte lipstick to use. It’s a lot darker than Yash and Honeylove, however it looks great with subtle eye make-up and is nice if you want a nude lipstick that doesn’t give you a ‘washed out’ appearance.
